Interaction Designers communicate their ideas through various tools. Prototyping is one of such tools. In order to facilitate the development of the prototypes Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in collaboration with Design Department of the Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences) in Potsdam/Germany, took on a challenge of developing three modules for the Processing/Wiring environment.
Wireless Network Module
This module should enable interaction designers to easily build prototypes of networked objects or/and objects connected to the computer.
Real-Time Motion Tracking Module
This module should enable interaction designers to receive (on the Wiring Board) location information with a accuracy of max. 10 cm.
Force Feedback/Haptic prototyping Modules This module consists of two versions: a Rotary Knob and a Slider. A set of Wiring comands and a visual programming interface will be developed for easy programming of the tactile feedback of the tool.
