Workshop
Genetic therapy, cloning, prolonged human life, synthesized animals, biological computing these are just a few of the biotechnology applications already revolutionizing our lives and changing our environment. Now is the time to face some of the overwhelming social, economical, ethical, legal and psychological questions this technological evolution give rise to.
We chose to explore the effects of brain fingerprinting, an experimental technique that establishes a persons knowledge about a certain person, object or any other event.
In the workshop the teams are asked to design a particular object, space, service, according to the scenario and to their joint expertise, while using physical and digital tools.
The two main objectives are:
To lead designers into thinking critically of future yet feasible scenarios and face some of the important dilemmas and problems such scenarios raise.
To facilitate interdisciplinary design work and apply different prototyping tools and methodologies in constructing these scenarios.
